Snow Shark

After the 'Beast from the East' leaving a lot of the UK dealing with a lot of snow I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out my big shark in the outdoors with the new fresh white background providing a clearer base for a photo, as I have found the thin lines of the shark structure are easily hidden by busy backgrounds. I wanted to suspend the shark amongst the trees outside the Priestman building as I thought there was something equally threatening and humorous about stumbling upon a shark 'swimming' through a woodland-y outdoor environment. The shark was clearest to view lying flat on the snow but wasn't very interesting to me as it looked more lifeless and if it was suspended too high the branches and straws combined making it difficult to distinguish what was shark or tree, although it was interesting to see the shark in a way I hadn't considered displaying it of it being hidden in an environment/space.

I also put my shark back up in the Shaun project space to try it on its own and at different angles: A level 'Hirst' one and from its nose like a caught and displayed fish. The level one works quite well but I don't like the suspended one as it loses all animation about it and loses any power and ability to dominate the sense of the space which is an important factor to me when working with stereotypical dangerous animals on large scales.
